Darter Dash 5 Mile & 5K

In collaboration with Big Benefit Run & Ride and Birmingham Ultra Trail Society, Turkey Creek Nature Preserve will host the Darter Dash 5 mile/5K on Saturday, July 30. It is a glorious run through the new trails at one of Birmingham’s great outdoor treasures, Turkey Creek Nature Preserve. The courses are 100% on trails and include some moderate elevation as well as stretches along side Turkey Creek. The Preserve protects a stretch of the creek that is the only place in the world where the Vermilion Darter, as well as other Darter species, live. It is truly a unique and beautiful place.

The races start at 8 am and will include a post-race award ceremony featuring truly unique awards. Thanks to Tailwind for the race hydration and Good People Brewing Co for the post-race refreshments! The cost of the event is $25 and all proceeds go to fund educational programs at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve.
